Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment bestows 2016 Bronze Award to
CC3, HOA becomes first in state history named to the Environmental Leadership Program

DENVER – The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment will recognize 169 companies Oct. 5 for outstanding environmental achievements that help keep Colorado a desirable place to work and live. The department, in partnership with the Pollution Prevention Advisory Board and the Colorado Environmental Partnership, will present the 17th annual Environmental Leadership Awards at the McNichols Civic Center Building . More than 400 government, business and community leaders are expected to attend.

The awards recognize Colorado organizations with gold, silver and bronze designations for voluntarily going beyond compliance with state and federal regulations and for their commitment to continual environmental improvement.

“We are proud to recognize all of Colorado’s environmental leaders and work with them to reduce barriers to innovation while protecting public health and the environment,” said department Executive Director and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Larry Wolk.

This year’s program will recognize 15 new Gold Leaders, which join 90 other companies and organizations already designated as Gold Leaders. The new Gold Leaders include Gates Company, Prologis and Vail Public Library. There currently are 37 companies designated as Silver Partners and 27 companies designated as Bronze Achievers.

The 2016 24-Karat Gold Award winner will be named at the event. 24-Karat Gold Award winners are individuals or teams, nominated by other Gold Leaders, who have gone above and beyond required job duties to create and implement a program or initiative that made a measurable contribution to the environment, the economy and society. The Colorado Environmental Leadership Program is open to all Colorado businesses, industries, offices, educational institutions, municipalities, government agencies, communities, nonprofits and other organizations.

Colorado WaterWise names Cherry Creek 3 as it
s statewide 2015 Water Conservation Awardee!

The Colorado WaterWise organization, a state-wide association of water suppliers, engineers, water professionals and environmentalists, presented our HOA with its 2015 Liz Gardener Water Conservation Award, citing the Association's success in reducing water consumption by more than 15 million gallons of water per year. The savings came as the results of a major landscaping retrofit and installation of more than 400 high-efficiency toilets during the past several years under the leadership of the HOA Board and President Don Ireland. The award was presented at the annual Colorado WaterWise Summit in Denver on Oct. 29. Please click on the "Here's The Latest" link at left to see the award and presentation. This is the first time Colorado WaterWise has given the award to a non-conservation organization or professional group in the state, so "thank you" to all residents who care about water conservation and "use only what they need!"

Cherry Creek 3 is Colorado's first HOA to receive the Rocky Mountain Audubon Society's Habitat Hero Award!
In 2014, Audubon Rockies named Cherry Creek 3 as the state's first HOA as a Habitat Hero award winner because its renovated landscaping, including wildscaping, conserves water while serving as a place friendly to pollinators, including birds, bees, hummingbirds and butterflies.
